Mark Isherwood, locally based AM for North Wales, has visited Sainsbury’s Wrexham store to meet staff and local customers.
Mr Isherwood learned about the store’s Local Charity partner of the Year, Splash Community Trust, who was voted in by customers at the beginning of July.
He was welcomed by Deputy Store Manager, Dean Baksh Jones, and taken on a tour of the 47,000 sq feet store in Wrexham.
Mr Isherwood said:
“It was a pleasure to visit Sainsbury's Wrexham store and to discuss the role they play in the local community, including their support for the Royal British Legion (RBL). I was also delighted to learn that Splash Community Trust was the store’s Local Charity partner of the Year. As a community run enterprise, Plas Madoc's Splash Magic Leisure Centre shines a light on the way forward, seeing everyone as equal partners in local services.”
Dean Baksh Jones, Deputy Store Manager at Sainsbury’s Wrexham added:
“It has been great having Mr Isherwood in our store, and introducing him to our customers and colleagues. I’m incredibly proud of our team, our store and the impact we have on our community. Mark was interested in hearing about our Local charity Partnership, Splash Magic, and about the support the store has given to the RBL over the years, with himself looking to join the volunteers during their collection days leading up to Remembrance Day this year.”
