Thank you for taking the time to contact me about improving the diagnosis of dementia in Wales.
Firstly, I would like to express my own and my Welsh Conservative colleagues’ agreement that everyone facing dementia deserves a timely, accurate and high quality diagnosis, as this will not only benefit those suffering with dementia, but their families too.
Having been a devolved matter in Wales since 1999, we must recognise the role that the Welsh Government has had in the poor management of the Welsh NHS. Consequently, this has impacted all groups of society.
Therefore, my colleagues and I will liaise with Alzheimer’s Society Cymru about this campaign as it is vital that we aim to improve the collection of dementia diagnosis data.
