POLICE authorities in Wales must use all measures at their disposal to keep precepts down to acceptable levels, North Wales Assembly Member, Mark Isherwood has stated this afternoon.??
Speaking in the Assembly debate on the Police Settlement 2012-2013, Mr Isherwood recognised the challenges facing police forces, with UK police funding in England and Wales set to fall by £1 billion by 2014 - cuts that would have happened if Labour had remained in power - and said police authorities need to consider options other than increasing precepts to deal with the cuts.

ISHERWOOD: PARK HOME RESIDENTS IN NORTH WALES URGED TO CONTACT CONSUMER WATCHDOG |
NORTH Wales Assembly Member, Mark Isherwood, is asking constituents who live in park homes to make the Welsh consumer watchdog aware of any issues they face.
Consumer Focus Wales is interviewing individual park homes residents from across Wales about their experiences for their major report, which will be launched in?autumn 2012, and want more residents to get in touch to discuss their experiences – both good and bad – of living on a park home site.
Earlier this month Mr Isherwood spoke in the Assembly debate on the proposed legislation for Park Homes and referred to cases on sites in Prestatyn to highlight why it is necessary (see notes below).
Some residents have reported blocking of sales by site operators which causes great financial loss to the park home owner and an easy profit for some rogue site operators. Other residents have spoken to Consumer Focus Wales about their experience of buying a park home, their electricity, gas and water supplies, their written agreement and pitch fees and the quality of life on their park home site.

ISHERWOOD: SHOCK AT ANNOUNCEMENT ON COMMUNITY TRANSPORT INITIATIVE |
NORTH Wales Assembly Member, Mark Isherwood, has criticised the “sneaky” way in which the Welsh Government announced on Thursday that instead of ending the Community Transport Concessionary Fare Initiative (CTCFI), there would now be an evaluation of the scheme - and that funding for CTCFI schemes would now continue until the evaluation was completed.
Mr Isherwood has criticised the Minister, Carl Sargeant, for announcing the news in a Written Statement read out by the Chair of the Cross Party Group on Older People and Ageing at its meeting on Thursday afternoon, at which he was the only other AM present, instead of making a Statement to the full Assembly, as he called for last month (see notes below

ISHERWOOD: AM QUESTIONS MINISTER FOLLOWING STATEMENT ON ANGLESEY COUNTY COUNCIL |
NORTH Wales Assembly Member, Mark Isherwood, raised a number of concerns with Local Government Minister, Carl Sargeant, following his Statement this week updating members on Anglesey County Council.
Mr Isherwood, who last month blasted the Minister’s decision to postpone the elections on Anglesey by a year, was particularly keen to know whether the Minister advised the Boundary Commission in advance that he wished there to be multi-member wards on Anglesey. Speaking in the Chamber, Mr Isherwood, said: “Given that the Auditor General recommended a review of the proposals with regard to the number of councillors and the introduction of multi-member wards, why is the recommendation for only multi-member boards, which I believe would be the only council in Wales introducing that to this extent? Was that a recommendation that you made to the Boundary Commission before it made its recommendations, or did the commission generate it entirely by itself?
